Bharat Dev Varma Demise: Bharat Dev Verma, father of actress Riya Sen and Raima Sen, has passed away. He said goodbye to the world at the age of 83. The reason for his death has not been revealed yet. He breathed his last in Kolkata. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has expressed grief over the demise of Bharat Dev Verma.
CM Mamata Banerjee has paid tribute to Bharat Dev Verma by posting a post on Instagram. He wrote- ‘I am saddened by the demise of Bharat Dev Verma, husband of film star Munmun Sen and a great well-wisher of mine. He was really very loving and affectionate to me and I will always cherish his memories.

Munmun Sen and daughter Raima left from Delhi
The Chief Minister described the demise of Bharat Dev Verma as a big loss for her and said that she also met his family today. He wrote- ‘He considered me a part of his family and his demise is a big loss for me. After getting the news this morning, I went to his residence in Ballygunge, where his daughter Riya was present. Munmun and Raima are coming from Delhi. I paid my tribute to the deceased and expressed my condolences to the family.
Bharat Dev Varma was a member of the royal family
According to many media reports, Bharat Dev Verma belonged to the royal family of Tripura. Bharat’s mother was Ila Devi who was the princess of Cooch Behar. His younger sister Gayatri Devi was the queen of Jaipur. Not only this, Bharat’s grandmother Indira Vadodara was also from the royal family, she was the daughter of Maharaja Serji Rao Gaekwad III.
Bharat married actress Munmun Sen in 1978. The couple has two daughters Riya Sen and Raima Sen. Like their mother Munmun, Riya and Raima are also actresses.
